Clash Royale with TRoy

Powered by Blogger.
Hey guys, in this guide I want to show you some great defensive combos which require less Elixir to deal with certain troops and get zero damage done on your Tower. These Defences get you a positive elixir trade!
The gifs below were taken from Mighty’s video. You should take a look at his video at the bottom to see more details!

A few things to note

  • In these situations, the Arena Tower is helping take out the enemy troops.
  • The incoming troop is a lone, or not supported by any troop.
  • Everything is at Tournament standard.
  • These matchups were taken after the balance change in June.
Giant
Ice Spirit + Goblins combo can completely shut down the Giant. Positive Elixir trade!
Skeleton Army
Ice Spirit completely shuts down Skeleton Army. 1 Elixir for 3 Elixir.
Valkyrie
With only 2 Elixir, Ice Golem can easily shut down Valkyrie when played correctly.
Minion Horde
Not many players knew this but you can shut down Minion Horde by using Spear Goblins.
Baby Dragon
Once again, Ice Golem comes in handy. 2 Elixir for 4 Elixir!
Mini P.E.K.K.A
Sorry Mini P.E.K.K.A. Skeletons do not like pancakes.
Knight
Skeletons and Ice Spirit can easily get the job done. Positive Elixir trade!
Prince
Skeletons and Goblins will help you deal with the Prince with ease.
Witch/Electro Wizard
No worries. Goblins again!
Executioner
Goblins shuts down the Executioner. (It’s a sign… Get them in your deck now!)
Balloon
Bats or Minions. Your choice!
Elite Barbarians
Goblins + Skeletons combo can shut them down easily.
Golem
I believe that Inferno Tower is the cheapest solution for you in this case.
Giant Skeleton
Skeleton Army is the best choice here! 3 Elixir for 6 Elixir!
Hog Rider
Skeleton Army gets the job done. 3 Elixir for 4 Elixir. You can’t find any better deal!
Lumberjack and Miner
Goblins again. Shuts down the Lumberjack for a positive Elixir trade.
Musketeer
Skeletons! 1 Elixir for 4 Elixir. I believe that you can’t shut down Musketeer with less than 1 Elixir xD
P.E.K.K.A
Tombstone is the best choice here. With only 3 Elixir, say goodbye to P.E.K.K.A!
3 Musketeers
Both Fireball and Skeleton Army can do this. However, using Fireball requires more skills tho.
Sparky
Poor Sparky. There are only 3 of them…
Ice Wizard
Skeletons shuts down Ice Wizard. 1 Elixir for 3 Elixir!
Bandit
Goblins again boyssss.

Hope You enjoyed this guide. Clash on !!

It seems 99% of the tournament champions I see always have Triple Legendaries Deck. Can anybody recommend a good way to counters this Payfecta deck?

So, before I start, yes, I myself have only 1 legendary Level 2, that is the Lavahound. Yea i know you guys must be thinking its the Lamest Card one can ever have and it must be terrible luck to Get 2 of them but honestly the card is like a boon to me. I am a F2P and the lavahound Helped me Climb from Arena 6  to 2783 Trophies. Here is the Deck that helped me.
Payfecta Strategy
To counter this deck, you need to know how it work. In a typical game against the payfecta, they will use their ice wizard and another troop (say the mini pekka) to defend against whatever your push was. They now launch a push with all three of the legendaries, the mini pekka, and you know they have a zap in their hand. Your tower is now being attacked from four different angles: The miner from behind, the ice wizard a little farther back, the princess from your oppoent’s side of the map, and the mini pekka from the front. You need to drop 4 different cards at the same time in different locations in order to prevent any damage. This is obviously not possible, and you probably don’t have 4 cards that can be used to stop the push. You probably just took anywhere from 500-2500 damage, depending on how well you countered everything. And if your opponent was really diabolical, they would place the miner so it gets targeted by both towers, and place minions in the other lane, forcing you to spread out your troops even further.

How to deal with Payfecta Deck

Strategy 1: Use Lightning, why? Because your opponent will almost always send something in with the 3 cards, such as a Mini Pekka, all you need is to hover your Lightning over the Ice Wizard and Princess and Mini Pekka, and counter the Miner with Guards, for a positive Elixir Trade! (+4!)
Strategy 2: Start putting certain counters in your deck, I recommend putting in Arrows and Guards/Goblins in your deck, because the Princess and Ice Wizard are hard to deal with, so taking out one of them makes it 100% easier to tank and spank, due to the big AoE the Princess has, and you can take out the Miner out with your Guards/Goblins, leaving you alone with the Ice Wizard, but he doesn’t do too much damage anyways, you could choose to ignore him and push the other side.
Strategy 3: Use any kind of offensive building, such as Goblin Hut or Furnace, a Furnace alone, will still survive with a wave of Fire Spirits if put near your King Tower, infront, so you will always do damage while your opponent doesn’t, for only 1 elixir! Now just put a Valkery or Mini Pekka at the Ice Wizard and Princess and you’re good to go!

Deck matchups with Triple Legendaries Deck

These are some of the most common matchups you will see against a a player with the Payfecta cards, so I will be going very quickly through each deck:
Royal Giant + Hog + Payfecta
Probably the hardest of them all, if you already have trouble against an RG, this will only catch you more off guard, and will quickly chip your tower down, so you always have to react to their push, because it will take your tower down in seconds.
The best thing to do is to do nothing and accept your fate, or draw.
Just kidding, if you have a Mini Pekka, which most of you probably have, use to solo every single card they used to push with, this little f*cker will kill this 20 elixir push all by itself, leaving you with enough elixir to counterpush, ofcourse you should help him out before your tower dies, because as we all know, RG+Hog give no positive elixir trades, so if you counter those 2, and take out Princess and the Miner, you are left with a huge counterpush, and your enemy will run dry on elixir and have no response to your counterpush.
Rg + Payfecta
This one is very easy to deal with, tank and spank the Ice Wizard and Princess AoE damage, using the Knight or Valkery, put down an Inferno Tower for the RG, and counter the Miner with Goblins or Skeletons, or whatever you have available at the moment, and your tower will have little to no damage done by your opponent.
Giant + Musketeer + Pump + Payfecta
Sounds rough, but it really isn’t, since you have enough time to respond against Giant, you will have even more for the back up, all you need is Goblins for the Miner, Valkery for the Support behind the Giant and Mini Pekka for the Giant, and you’re 10 elixir down while your opponent is down 19 elixir!
Payfecta + Mortar
Now this is definitly a though matchup, because you have to deal already with the 3 thoughest cards in the game, and now theres another threat, right behind the princess, your best friend is probably a Rocket to take out the Mortar and Princess or a Giant to soak up all the damage, and take out the Payfecta cards.
Payfecta + Inferno Tower ( /u/pompeyo4’s deck)
This deck is very easily to deal with, I’ve seen it alot, and all you need to do is split up their pushes, Arrows also definitly help since Miner+Ice Wizard is only easier to take out.
Payfecta + Mini Pekka Cycle
Same as the above, all you do is counter the Mini Pekka, and do more damage than their Miner, and you’re good to go!
Tips to beat multiple legendaries cards?
Giant poison decks or other build-up decks can be devastating to payfecta if you can protect your pumps. As a payfecta user myself if I screw up and the opponent can build a large enough push it can be devastating. Just a thing to note is most payfecta users use zap and princess as there main crowd control cards so if you can arrow/poison the princess it would not be a bad idea to support your giant push with a minion horde.
Knowing your opponents rotations and then outplaying that. It’s not like you can just click faster or better or something. A big part of it is knowing what you need to throw down to minimize turret damage, at least against an RG, because losing that first turret is pretty much a GG when they can play it in the middle. Sure in a tourney maybe mini Pekka alone is enough to counter, but in ladder you want to minimize that turret damage as much as possible. This leads to not as good elixir trades as you would have at even levels, but if you can minimize the turret damage you give yourself a chance.
I’d recommend re-watching your losses, was it something you specifically did, maybe a missplay or maybe looking back you could have had a better counter actually. If it is that then learn from it and make an effort to not do that next time. If it really was something like card levels or just shit RNG starting hand then brush it off an move on, knowing that eventually those trash players will be stuck even more when the meta changes and as you level your cards up. If you are losing to RG’s a lot being supported by legendaries try to focus on mitiagating damage as much as you can, go on the clash royale wiki and lookup how many extra hits or seconds each of your counters needs to kill that card. Also that sometimes just making a positive elixir trade isn’t the best situation when you are sacrificing a lot of turret health, or if it means giving up on an attack. Can you fireball+zap an icewizard? If you can kill it at level 1 and they drop a level 1 ice wiz, then maybe its worth it to get in some chip damage on turret, espcially if they are a “bad” player.

Hope You Guys enjoyed Reading this guide and now you can counter these Payfecta Decks without a single worry.
Happy Clashing !!!!
PrincessCard

Princess

Summary

  • The Princess is unlocked from the Royal Arena . (Royal Arena Decks)
  • She is an area damage, long ranged troop with low hitpoints and moderate damage.
  • A Princess card costs 3 Elixir to deploy.
  • The Princess' range is so long she can target and shoot Arena Towers from the opposite side of the river.

Strategy

  • The Princess' ranged area damage makes her a good counter for hordes of low hitpoint troops.
  • The area damage of the Princess is very high, but due to her low hitpoints, she can be eliminated quickly. It is effective to spawn a Giant, Knight or Valkyrie in front of her defensively, to engage any opposing troops so that the Princess can survive and continue to inflict damage.
  • If ignored, the Princess can get a tower on her own easily. And once she locks on a tower, dealing with a tank in front of her will be more of a waste.
  • Although the Princess is superior to attacking defensive Buildings at a distance, the Tesla cannot be attacked by the Princess whilst it is hidden, forcing the player to aggressively attack the Tesla or to leave the Princess to be eliminated.
    • However, the Princess will most likely target the Arena Tower first, unless the Tesla is very close to the separating area.
  • When defending against an enemy rush, deploying her at the back of the Arena is beneficial, as her long range will allow her to attack while receiving no incoming hits.

Counters For the Princess

A well placed Fireball, Arrows, The Log and Goblins can easily eliminate the Princess.
  • Be careful when using Arrows to defeat a Princess, as the opponent may take advantage of your lack of Arrows and deploy swarms of low hitpoint troops, such as the Minion Horde or Skeleton Armyor even a mirrored Princess.
  • Arrows that are seven levels higher than a Princess can take her out.

  • Spells and Miner can Reach her.

2016-04-13-02-53-48-Screen_Shot_2016-04-13_at_11.53.19_AM.png
Due to her very low HP, the Princess can easily be countered by any card, be it a troop, a spell, or a building. However, the most efficient and Elixir-friendly way to defeat her is to erect a Tesla Tower in the middle of the Arena. This is because while it is still hiding, the Princess cannot attack it. She will automatically be lured by this defensive building while her health is being slowly zapped by it. And when she's been dealt with, the Tesla will continue to guard your towers for you while your other troops make their way to victory.
If you don't have the Tesla just yet, you can rely on beginner spells such as the Arrow, the Fireball, and the Goblin Barrel. It's highly recommended that you do not use max out Arrows card, for it will be useless against a Level 6 Princess.

Hey Guys whats up TRoy here. In this guide I am gonna show you how to Counter the Royal Giant and prevent it from Demolishing your tower . Lets get started

  • Using Mini P.E.K.K.A: Play it 1 vs. 1 and your mini P.E.K.K.A can take down the Royal Giant very quickly and could deal some damage to the opponent’s Tower.

  • Using Inferno Tower: Do this reactively, once the Royal Giant has crosses the river, place it down 2 tiles from your King’s Tower, right when he is about to hit  your Arena Tower so that it can hit the Royal Giant. Whether you combine it with Tower or not, that is always a positive Elixir trade. Note : After the update, the Royal Giant can Out Range Inferno Tower so place at the correct time.

  • Using Cannon or Tesla: Place Cannon 3 tiles from the river and 1 tile from your Arena Tower as well as combine it with your small troops to take out Royal Giant quickly.
Note: Don’t place your Tesla 4 tiles from the river because it just won’t be triggered!

  • Using Zap: Zap is definitely one of the most useful cards in game. If you miss your timing, once the Royal Giant locks on your Arena Tower, place a building down and Zap it, it will target your building right after that.
  • Using swarms: If you swarm Royal Giant with Minions, Goblins, Skeletons, Guards,… you will burst him down. Just be careful of Arrows!
  • Well placed Cannon: Your Cannon can tank a few hits from Royal Giant, you can also use some small troops to finish this faster but that is a good Elixir trade and you can use those Elixir for the counter push right after that.
  • Using Barbarians: Your Barbarians can kill the Royal Giant quickly without taking a single damage. Yes, the Royal Giant can hit your Tower few times but that’s Okay since it is pretty hard to completely protect your comprehensively. You can launch a counter push right after that using the push trick.
  • Minions + Zap would be a great to counter alone Royal Giant as most players don’t want to Zap/Arrows 3 Minions. You will take some damage for sure but it’s a good trade!
In addition, 3 Musketeers + Royal Giant is a pretty popular combo nowadays. The best way to deal with it is to use Rocket. Otherwise, Barbarians/Valkyrie + Freeze would work very well!
Royal Giant is not that OP truly. It is just because we didn’t face him enough before!

The Lava Hound is one of the new legendary Cards from the May 3 update, along with the Sparky and the Miner. It is the earliest legendary card that you can get in game since it is unlocked at Arena 4. It is a tanky flying troop that targets buildings and costs 7 elixir.
Similar with the Golem, the Lava Hound also splits up once it dies. The Lava Hound splits up into 6 Lava pups, similar to the Minion Horde. However, these Lava pups now targets ground and air units and not just buildings compared to its first form.
A high health flying troop that splits into a Minion Horde-like Lava pups is really strong. Without the right strategy and the right cards to counter it, you may find yourself losing an Arena Tower very easily. Luckily because of its rarity, you don’t usually battle someone with a Lava Hound deck. Though, it’s really important to know how to counter it whenever you face someone with a Lava Hound Deck.

Strategy on building your deck:

Strategy #1

Have an air damaging troop in your deck

It is a no-brainer to add an air damaging troop in your deck but you need to choose wisely which one is better and appropriate for your play style. The list of cards below will guide you on choosing one:

Best Troops vs Lava Hound Decks

100_Musketeer-Rare-Card-Clash-Royale
Musketeer – One of the best troops to counter Lava Hound because it offers long range and high attack damage to a single target.

100_Wizard-Rare-Card-Clash-Royale
Wizard – The wizard has slightly shorter range than the Musketeer but if offers high splash damage on ground and air targets. What’s great about the wizard is that if the Lava Hound’s deck is paired up with other flying units like Minion Horde, the Wizard has no problem dealing with these troops.

princess-new-clash-royale-card-100
Princess – At a cost of 3 elixirs, you’ll have the farthest range of all troop cards in the game plus splash damage. If you have this card, it’s really nice to counter multiple troops and buildings at a distance. However, make sure that you have an Inferno Tower to support the Princess because it is not enough to kill the Lava Hound alone.

ice-wizard-new-clash-royale-card-100
Ice Wizard – Ice Wizard can be a good option as long as you have a follow up card to add. It can delay the Lava Hound to your Tower and enough for your archers/spear goblins to kill it. Lava Hound is a slow moving troop. With the slow on Ice Wizard’s attack, it will briefly delay the Lava Hound having enough time to kill it before reaching your Tower.
Ice-wizard-vs-lava-hound

100_Minion-Horde-Common-Card-Clash-Royale
Minion Horde – It can kill the Lava Hound easily. Also, it has no problem dealing with the Lava Pups afterwards. The only problem is that it can be killed by an Arrow or if the enemy has a Wizard behind the Lava Hound. The trick in using the Minion Horde vs the Arrow is to place your Minion Horde near the Lava Hound when it is near your Arena Tower so that the Arrow’s projectile is longer to reach your Minion Horde. Deploying a Valkyrie/Mini Pekka/Knight first to attack the Wizard before placing your Minion Horde is another trick since they don’t target flying units, they will ignore the Lava Hound and attack the Wizard directly.
Lava-hound-vs-minion-horde

three-musketeers-new-clash-royale-card-100
Three Musketeer – Thought it is very costly, it can counter the Lava Hound easily. However, it is not recommended to use if you have low level Three Musketeer because it can be killed with high level Fireball.
three-musketeers-vs-lava-hound

Strategy #2

Have one or both of these cards
100_Inferno-Tower-Rare-Card-Clash-Royale
Inferno Tower – the best counter to tanks in the game. It counters all high hp troops as it deals insane amount of damage once it builds up on a single target. Coupled with Zap, use it to eliminate unwanted targets on the way like Goblins/Skeletons.

100_Cannon-Common-Card-Clash-Royale
Cannon – the most versatile building with decent hp and damage at cheap 3 elixir cost is a great card to distract building targeting troops like Hog Riders, Giant, Balloons and Lava Hound. Place this around 2-3 tiles away from the tower for the Lava Hound to target. Then place a Musketeer to damage the Lava Hound together with the Arena Tower.

Strategy #3

Use of spells and combinations
100_Freeze-Epic-Card-Clash-Royale
Freeze – Freeze spell can be use both offensively and defensively. It can be used to delay the enemies attack and gives you the chance to freely hit them while they’re frozen. Just watch out your elixir amount so that you won’t miss that Freeze duration. It would be useless to freeze them out without a backup card that will kill them.
100_Fireball-Rare-Card-Clash-Royale
Fireball – A very useful spell in all situations. This spell can finish off low health Arena Towers and troops. Having a high level Fireball is an advantage. The Lava Hound alone can’t do much damage to the Arena Tower. It could be followed up by other troops which you can finish them off by a single Fireball.
100_Arrows-Common-Card-Clash-Royale
Arrows –  Another useful spell to counter the Minion Horde, Lava Pups and Goblins. If you don’t have a high level Fireball, you can replace it with an Arrow.
100_Zap-Common-Card-Clash-Royale
Zap – a low cost spell that stuns the area and can kill goblins and skeletons in an instant. This is a great tool to kill unwanted units when using Inferno Tower. It can also delay the enemy troops and reset its target to the nearest targeted unit.

Now you know which cards counters the Lava Hound, here are more tips to help you with sample scenarios when facing different Lava Hound decks.

Lava Hound + Balloons aka Lavaloon Deck

Lava-hound-baloon-Lavaloon
  • A really strong set of combo if done properly. Usually this deck needs an Elixir collector as it is an elixir heavy deck. This deck shines great in Sudden Death last minute countdown when the elixir generates faster.

Tip 1: Defend your Tower with Cannon/Inferno Tower. Using Freeze spell is also a good option to counter attack this deck.  You can put a cannon to lure the Lava Hound away from your Arena  tower and focus on killing the Balloons first.  You can use Musketeer or Minion/Minion Horde to effectively counter attack this deck.
Tip 2: After a successful counter attack, this will leave your opponent open for attacks. This is your chance to destroy the Arena Tower before setting up another combo.

Lava Hound + Baby Dragon + Minion Horde aka Air deck

Inferno-tower-vs-lava-hound-baby-dragon
  • Inferno Tower and Arrow is the best cards to counter this deck. Once the Lava Hound dies and splits into Lava Pups, the Inferno Tower will change target to the Lava Pups. Since Inferno Tower is not good against swarm troops, it will easily destroyed by the Lava Pups and Baby Dragon. Use Arrow to kill the Lava Pups so that the Inferno Tower can focus on the Baby Dragon
inferno-tower-vs-lava-pups-baby-dragon
  • If Inferno Tower is not available, use your cannon as a distraction for the Lava Hound and place your Musketeer immediately. Be careful on placing your Musketeer. Your opponent might have Lightning Spell, Fireball or Freeze. Place the Cannon and the Musketeer a little bit away from each other so that it won’t get countered easily by a spell.
lava-hound-minions-vs-cannon-musketeer
  • If all else fails, use a Fireball to eliminate the Minion Horde.
fireball-vs-lava-hound-minion-horde

Lava Hound + Wizard + Mini Pekka + Goblins

wizard-vs-Lava-hound
  • This deck counters Minion Hordes because of the Wizard. You can rely on your Inferno Tower to deal with the Lava Hound, instead. However, if he placed it with Goblins and Mini Pekka, your Inferno Tower can go down easily.
  • Proper placement of Musketeer is important so that it will not target the Lava Hound first, if there is Wizard behind. Wait until your Musketeer can snipe the Wizard. However, if it is accompanied by a Mini Pekka, don’t place your Musketeer open from the Mini Pekka’s attack.
  • Since the Lava Hound have low damage, you can deal with it later after killing first its backup troops.
  • A good counter is to use Valkyrie to kill the Wizard and add swarm units (goblin/skeleton/etc) to distract the Mini Pekka. You can also use a higher level Fireball to kill the Wizard instantly
